ThouShaltNot combines tremendous amounts of classical training with the raw edges of modern gothic, synthpop, and industrial music. Their ability to capture the energy and presance of live shows on their albums heralded praise of "Perfect" by Starvox, and voted of Best New Gothic/Darkwave Artist of 2001 by Im Rhythmus Bleiben magazine.

Based in Pittsburgh, PA and Columbus, OH, ThouShaltNot have toured nationally and worked with acts such as Alphaville, Peter Murphy, VNV Nation, Haujobb, Assemblage 23, The Cruxshadows, Trance to the Sun, Bella Morte, Hungry Lucy, and more. This level of achievement is the result of an intense dedication to their craft. Alexx is a graduate student in music theory and Aaron builds his own electronic instruments. Guitarist Jeremy Long brings a new dimension of Britpop sensibility and conceptual philosophy to the band. Much like Alexx and Aaron, he has an extensive background in music including classical vocal, and piano training.

The band's origins trace back to early demos that Alexx had made in the mid-1990s. As he honed them and developed a sound while at college in Ohio, Aaron's involvement in the project grew to a creative and performing force. Shortly after ThouShaltNot began playing shows, they were signed to ADSR Musicwerks, joining SMP, Noxious Emotion, and a host of other talented bands. Their self-titled debut, released in February 2000, received outstanding reviews.

Their first national tour followed, and soon after, Alexx and Aaron were hard at work on the album that was to become The Holiness of Now. Released in June of 2001, this album earned the band the full national exposure it deserved. Their intense songs "Last Comfort" and "Without Faith" were played at nearly every major dark club in America.

After another set of concerts and studio excursions, ThouShaltNot offered up You'll Wake Up Yesterday, an album of remixes, covers, live tracks, and new material. Timing this release with such major performances as the 2002 GothCon, ThouShaltNot displayed their versatility as musicians, and set the stage for their ascent.

After the release of You'll Wake Up Yesterday, Alexx and Aaron were already working hard on another album. After live guitarist Jeremy Long began contributing to the efforts, things began to take shape in earnest. Amidst the labors of creating The White Beyond, Alexx, Aaron, and Jeremy put pen to paper and proudly signed a contract with Dancing Ferret Discs. After a re-release of The Holiness of Now on Dancing Ferret Discs, a second national tour, with Hungry Lucy, was in order. Upon completion of the tour, ThouShaltNot's newest album The White Beyond was ready for a September 2003 release.
